I am back! (finally!!)...

May 4, 2008

At last I have found the opportunity to update this blog!To be honest it has been somewhat hectic here at Petite Properties HQ over the last couple of months, what with Miniatura, followed almost immediately by preparation for KDF

In between which I have been finalizing book 3 from the ‘bringing 1:24th to life’ series and I am really looking forward to launching it at Kensington Dolls House Festival later this month.

Those of you who came to the Petite Properties’ stand at Miniatura will already know that we had a really busy show and of the 50 houses, cottages and shops that we took – only 5 made it home with us at the end of the weekend!  However, this has meant that I have had to work really hard to replace my stock in readiness for KDF  in what has been a relatively short amount of time!!

What can I say, except I am shattered!!!!”

However despite the long hours in the workshop I am really looking forward to Kensington Dolls House Festival as not only will I have many, many new designs to showcase for the first time, but I will also be giving a talk on 1:24th scale on the Saturday (17th) – all very exciting!!!

If that wasn’t enough I will also have ALL the completed ‘country cottage’ room boxes from books 1, 2 and 3 on display on the stand – so you will be able to see for yourselves first hand what my books teach readers to create…

All making for very busy, but exciting times!

Thame Dolls House & Miniatures Fair...

February 21, 2008

I am really looking forward to attending the Thame Dolls House & Miniatures fair this coming Saturday (23rd)...

(Further details of the fair can be found on the fair dates page of this website.)

It will the first time Petite Properties Ltd has exhibited at the show and Tony and I are very excited at the prospect.

We have many new property designs to showcase, some for the first time!  We will also have a selection of beds taken from the new 1:24th furntiture collection...

As Spring Miniatura also looms large on the horizon, I have also started to already  update the show stocklist of properties that we will be taking with us.  There will be much more news about this next week.

I hope that you will be able to support the Thame show and in turn the breast cancer charity it is raising funds for.

See you there!

Flying by...

January 29, 2008

Is it me or does this year seem to be stuck in 'fast forward'... ?  As it certainly feels like I have blinked and missed pretty much most of January!

Truth be told I am now back in the workshop... Working on stock for the much anticipated Thame DH show on the 23rd of February.

Petite Properties is undergoing many changes and developments at the moment and safe to say I am certainly not resting on my laurels!...

What I can share is that i am working on a new range of house designs, together with a new range of furniture that will compliment Petite properties' vernacular architecture beautifully!

I am in the process of photographing all the new designs and pictures of which will be launched on this website very soon....

For now, my midnight oil is running low!

New year, new start...

January 16, 2008

Hello everyone... I have always found there to be something refreshing about a new year.  January to me has always had the feel of a clean page, in a new text book on the first day back at school.  Whimsical I know, but how I feel none the less.

This year has been no exception.

Unfortunately 2008 did not greet me in the way I would have wished as just before new year I went down with a virus that I have struggled to shift ever since.

New year is also a time of resolutions.  In the past I have given up many things, this year I resolved to give myself something back. During 2008 I resolved to have  a little more time to myself, time to work that bit harder, time to ultimately give myself more space in which to raise the bar, with regard to my work for Petite Properties....

Sometimes resolutions fail, but this year is something special - all will be unveiled very soon!!.

As 2008 beckons…as does the first show of the season – Thame Dollshouse & Miniatures Show on the 23rd of February 2008.  Preparation for this show and for Miniatura has already begun and I am really looking forward to attending both.  I do however, also have to clarify that despite my photograph being used in an advertisement for Sandown:The Big Dolls House Show, I / Petite Properties will not be attending this fair.So for now, happy mini-ing and I hope to see you either at Thame or Miniatura !Bea x

Happy New Year!!...

January 2, 2008

First of all I would like to wish everyone reading this blog a very Happy New Year!

I can't believe though that Christmas is over for another year.  Frown But I have been lucky enough to have had an amazing Christmas which was spent in the company of my family.  Christmas was both relaxing and magical and the first one celebrated in our new home.

I have also managed to find some 'quiet' time to start work on new projects that I hope will be revealed later in the year but in the meantime it seems that 2008 has started brilliantly, with Petite Properties being heavily featured in the debut edition of Dollhouse Miniatures.  I feel very priviledged to have had my projects and maker profile included in such a prestigious international publication.  I would also like to thank Lori at the magaizine for all her help and encouragement too.

But with the new year finally here, it is now time for me to get back to work and inturn, back into the workshop too. So with "less chat, more speed..." being January's mantra - I'm off!

A mixed week...

December 5, 2007

Hello again everyone!

What a busy time of year it is!  But so exciting too!

Despite recently being a victim of 'Man flu' [aka a head cold] I have been hard at work in my workshop doing my best Santa impression - but hopefully without the beard and the belly Wink

It has been an exciting week albeit a sad one too.

Yesterday was the first anniversary of the death of my Dad, it was a difficult day but it was also good to look back and take time out of my busy schedule to remember him...

On a happier note, this week I got to see an article that I had written about Petite Properties, published in January 2008's issue of Dolls House World Magazine. (No 184)... and if that was not enough I then discovered that  my second book: A Country Sitting Room was also featured in January's edition of The Dollshouse Magazine too...!

Currently, there are lots of exciting developments going on behind the scenes and I hope to have further information to release regarding them very soon.  But in the meantime - enjoy your festive preparations as we all count down to Christmas...
